Something tiny that bothers me about the Tav/ascended Astarion dynamics i see is that… Tav has literally downed so many INSANELY POWERED foes, theyre the hero of baldurs gate and the leader of the party for a reason.

(One could argue she didnt do it alone but ill get to that)

So why in all these fics are they just reduced to a damsel/victim? :((( I WANT THEM TO PUT ASTARION IN HIS PLACE FR LIKE I KNOW THEY CAN!!

They have loyal companions other than him that would drop everything for them, Theyre resourceful and brave and could absolutely save or defeat Ascended Astarion.

To have a character just be stripped down to nothing the second their lover knocks them down a peg just feels maddening, Tav would have so much fight in them seeing their love become everything he ever fear and hated.

but esp the end parts like when sirius finally spoke. and just i for .2 seconds wanted them to reconcile cause they have such a history among them and they're the last ones standing BUT then i remembered it's because of that fucking history they can't cause Remus knew padfoot. knew James. knew their bond. and then this happened so no remus will never get padfoot again and they will live on like shattered glass with a piece missing (James) so they can never fix it. they burned too bright and their sun was taken away and now they're just planets with no sun left to orbit

2) notes app drabbles, the entire series like i just— can't tell you how many times i randomly go back to it to read it in middle of night, whenever i want the oomf and saltiness and it's to a point that i now have lines memorised. and boy didn't that hurt? shouldn't he be used to betrayal from that corner in room hits like a gold mine at 3am idk what to say and also the one where harry says (politely) stfu mrs Weasley.

3) shovel talk!!!! i love it so so so much cause it's the quiet arrogance that does it for me. I'm such a sucker for that. and lily going from confidence to pro max to oh I'm talking sirius back and actually feeling that talk which si retroactively hilarious.

ok wow i really didn’t make an intro post ofiajwefoi IM HELLA LATE. but hello, my name is gel (18, pst, she/her) and this is arnold aka arnie. he’s pretty cool for the most part! kinda messy, but who isn’t, am i right? fjaweofi below the read more are bullet points abt his personality and some headcanons. to his athletic teammates, he's dynamic, tireless, and versatile. to his teachers, he’s insightful, persistent, and kind. to his ex-girlfriends, he’s genuine, thoughtful, and emotional. to his mother, he’s lazy, reckless, and stubborn.

but to the general public, arnold is truly unknown. his presence is felt by many, and the opinions on him are quite mixed

as it turns out, all sides are more-or-less right about him

he is problematic in his inconsistency with his words and actions, shamelessness,  bullying tendencies, occasional impulsiveness, and vengeful attitudes (which come from the influence of his aunts and uncles)

he is also honest to a fault and has a tendency to care more about the truth than people’s feelings in most situations (not a fan of sugarcoating)

but on the flip side, he’s very inclusive, friendly, and good at talking

ie. he effortlessly engages in conversations with strangers, greets random people whose faces he recognizes and asks how their day is, and smiles when he makes unexpected eye contact with people

he can also skillfully BS his way through a socratic seminar by only skimming through sparknotes and listening to what his classmates have to say

he also puts in a lot of effort for the people he cares about, going the extra mile for them whenever they’re in need

he’s that homie that will drive you to mcdonalds at midnight and simp with you in the car, he’ll answer your calls at 3am in the morning and listen to you rant

he tries to be as positive as he can and is more likely to be positive when helping other people rather than when he’s helping himself

ie. he’ll easily help someone else with their hw rather than study for his own test

he does get down on himself quite a bit (mostly over the fact that he thinks he’s not so different from his messed up family), but tries to overcome it by publicly complimenting himself and pretending that he’s more confident than he actually is #fakeittillyoumakeit

but ofc some people will just label him as conceited and say he’s annoying

to which he would reply “stfu and just love yourself smh”

but yeah! views on him are mixed

the traits that he is praised for are the very ones that caused him to be looked down on

what some call cheating, others call resourceful. what’s unfair to one person maybe be seen as brilliant by another. it all depends on how you want to look at him

he’s gone to prom five times in his life: once as a sophomore, twice as a junior, and twice as a senior

he’s been a warriors fan since birth and gets really mad that a lot of people are just bandwagon fans now and can’t remember them pre-2013
